The graceful beauty of Houttuynia cordata floating on blue-and-white porcelain
The "Kage Aono Hanamon Tea Bowl" is a work by Kotaro Ikura, and is a beautiful piece with a faint pattern of Houttuynia cordata flowers emerging from the blue-and-white porcelain. The flowers are not conspicuous at all, but are painted quietly and elegantly to blend into the surface of the tea bowl, making it a vessel of serenity that calms the mind of the viewer.
A fusion of elegance and serenity
The moment you pick up this tea bowl, you can feel its elegance and tranquility. The work is free of all decoration, and instead highlights the beauty of the material and the refinement of the shape, giving the viewer a distinctive impression of purity. This Kage Ao no Hanamon tea bowl also has a hidden beauty in its simplicity, and it soothes the heart of the user.
The traditional beauty of wildflower design lives on in the present day
The beauty of wildflower patterns has been loved in Japanese pottery since ancient times. The shape is modeled after the outlines of flowers in nature, giving the bowl a soft expression. The wildflower pattern is alive in this tea bowl as well, and its beautiful curves bring softness and movement to the entire bowl. When you pick it up, you can feel the graceful shape by running your fingers along the edge, and you can enjoy the joy of experiencing its beauty every time you use it.
Elegant construction and pure beauty
The distinctive feature of Kotaro Ikura's work is its precise and neat construction. This piece is no exception, and the traces of the meticulous workmanship are apparent the moment you touch it. The maker's technique and aesthetic sense are perfectly combined, and the thinness and uniform shape of the bowl speak of its high level of perfection as a work of art. Its pure beauty clears the mind the moment you hold the tea bowl in your hands.
Colors and shapes that harmonize with nature
The pale color of the pale blue porcelain evokes the stillness and dignified beauty of nature. The shade of shadow blue is a subtle shade that is neither blue nor white, and the way its expression changes depending on the amount of light is another charm of this tea bowl. Combined with the soft curves of the ring flower, it exudes a serene and harmonious beauty, as if it were a slice of nature. The floral and wildflower patterns floating in the pale blue porcelain weave together to create a tranquil and elegant piece. Its neat construction and purity will lift your spirits the moment you hold it in your hands, making your tea ceremony even more special. This tea bowl brings the beauty of traditional ring flowers into the modern age, and you will rediscover its charm every time you use it.
