The beauty of elegant Houttuynia cordata floating on pale blue porcelain

The "Shadow Blue Wildflower Tea Bowl" is a work by Kotaro Ikura, and is a truly beautiful piece with a Houttuynia cordata flower pattern that subtly emerges from the blue-and-white porcelain. The flower is not conspicuous at all, but is painted quietly and elegantly to blend into the surface of the tea bowl, making it the very embodiment of serenity that soothes the viewer's soul.

A fusion of elegance and serenity

The moment you pick up this tea bowl, you can sense its elegance and serenity. The pieces are completely devoid of decoration, instead highlighting the beauty of the materials and the refinement of the shape, giving the viewer a distinctive impression of purity. This Kage-Ao no Hanamon tea bowl also harbors a hidden beauty in its simplicity, and it soothes the heart of the user.

The traditional beauty of wildflower design lives on in the modern era

The beauty of wildflower patterns has been cherished in Japanese pottery since ancient times. Their shapes are modeled after the outlines of flowers found in nature, giving the vessel a soft expression. This tea bowl also embodies the wildflower design of the modern era, with its beautiful curves bringing softness and movement to the entire bowl. When you pick it up, you can feel the elegant shape as you run your fingers along the inside, and you will enjoy the joy of experiencing its beauty every time you use it.

Neat construction and pure beauty

The distinctive feature of Ikura Kotaro's work is its precise and refined construction. This piece is no exception, and the traces of meticulous workmanship are apparent the moment you touch it. The maker's technique and aesthetic sense are beautifully combined, and the thinness and uniform shape of the bowl speak to the high level of perfection as a work of art. Its pure beauty clears the mind the moment you hold the tea bowl in your hand.

Colors and shapes that harmonize with nature

The pale hue of the pale blue porcelain evokes the stillness and dignified beauty found in nature. The subtle shade of shadowy blue, which is neither blue nor white, changes its appearance depending on the amount of light, adding to the charm of this tea bowl. Combined with the soft curves of the flower rings, it exudes a serene and harmonious beauty, as if it were a snapshot of a natural landscape. The floral and wildflower designs floating within the pale blue porcelain weave together to create a quiet and elegant piece. Its refined craftsmanship and purity will capture your heart the moment you hold it, making your tea ceremony experience even more special. This tea bowl, which breathes the traditional beauty of flower rings into the modern age, is a work that allows you to rediscover its charm with each use.
