A full-bodied bowl of tea that exudes serenity and tolerance
This piece, "Red Tea Bowl" by Hideki Yanashita, is softly rounded, but designed with a slightly lower center of gravity, and its impressive shape gives a sense of stability and security to those who see and use it. The plump, rich curves have a sense of calm, as if rooted in the earth, and it goes beyond the ordinary tea bowl to become a presence filled with quiet generosity.
A welcoming and warm appearance
The moment you pick it up, you can feel its gentle warmth. Its rounded shape fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, evoking a sense of intimacy, as if it were a piece of pottery that has been with you for many years. The exquisite balance of vermilion and gray is visually calming, and creates a gentleness that seems to exude from within the pot. It is an exceptional piece that gently soothes the hearts of those who see and use it, and brings tranquility and fulfillment every time it is used.
A natural poem woven with vermilion and ash
The glaze of this piece is like a poem of nature, woven together by red and gray. The vermilion is as gentle as the warmth of the setting sun, while the gray wraps around it as if to soften its heat - the overlapping of these colors is a wonder born of chance in nature. The depth and fluctuation that cannot be created artificially gives the entire piece a quiet sense of life.
Delicate crazing in the gloss
The entire vessel has a soft sheen, and the crazing that appears depending on the viewing angle gives an elegant impression, like ripples on the surface of water. These minute cracks are a natural memory born from the firing process, and speak of a unique beauty that is unlike any other. When you make tea, the vessel itself quietly accompanies you, deepening the richness of the moment.
A happiness you'll want to keep touching
The plump shape is not only visually appealing, but also stands out for how comfortable it feels to hold in the hand. The low center of gravity gives it a sense of stability, and the rounded, gentle feel almost evokes affection. This piece has a warmth that makes you want to touch it forever, making it a masterpiece that will help you relax not only during the tea ceremony, but also in your everyday life.
