Introduction

Elegance of the shaded blue and a solid design

The "Kagesei Flower Vase" is a piece finished with beautiful pale blue porcelain called Kagesei, as its name suggests. Kagesei is a traditional glazing technique that originated in famous kilns in ancient China and is also widely loved in Japan. In this piece, the cool color of Kagesei is fused with the solid shape, giving it a refined beauty and a dignified presence.

Solid and versatile

The solid shape that characterizes this vase has a linear and stable form, making it a versatile design that enhances the beauty of any flower. This simple yet distinctive design harmonizes and expresses its presence in a wide range of settings, from modern spaces to traditional Japanese spaces. The solid shape also makes it practical, as it allows you to arrange a variety of flowers in a well-balanced way.

The transparency of the shadow blue and the beauty of the shadows

The shade and texture of the shadow blue glaze subtly changes depending on the amount of light, giving the entire vase a rich expression. The pale bluish, transparent glaze creates soft shadows, like light reflected on the surface of water, adding a cool feeling to a quiet space. The scenery of this beautiful glaze changes depending on where it is displayed and the angle of the light, so there is endless fun to be had from appreciating it.

A fusion of functional beauty and sculptural beauty

The Kagesei Flower Vase is a piece that combines functionality and beauty at a high level. Not only is it practical as a vessel for arranging flowers, but its solid shape and beautiful Kagesei glaze give it a visual beauty like a sculpture. The finished product changes depending on the flowers you put in it, so it is truly a work of art that is one with the flowers.

New beauty that combines tradition and modernity

Kotaro Ikura has created a new type of vase by fusing the ancient techniques of Kagesei with modern sensibility. This "Kagesei Vase" is rooted in tradition, but blends seamlessly into modern spaces and has a universal beauty that is loved across generations. "Kagesei Vase Ikura Kotaro" is a versatile vase that combines practicality and artistry, with a beautiful fusion of the beauty of Kagesei and a solid shape. The beauty of the shadows created by its neat form and the transparency of the glaze blends in with any space, not only highlighting the flowers, but the work itself brings a quiet presence to the space.
