Introduction

The beauty of porcelain and kakewake technique

The "Kagayaki Kakebun Vase" is a piece that perfectly harmonizes the smooth, lustrous texture of kogayaki with the kakewake technique. Kogayaki is a white porcelain with a pale cream color like ivory, and its warm hue gives this vase a unique depth. While the surface has a smooth texture, the changes in the glaze caused by the kakewake technique bring out different expressions depending on the viewing angle.

The beauty of movement and restraint created by kakewake

"Kakewake" is a technique in which different glazes are applied to different parts of the vase. By making full use of this technique, Ikura-sama creates subtle contrasts on the surface of the vase, creating a visual appeal that combines stillness with movement. The combination of the calm tones of the Kiba-hakuji porcelain with the striking colors of the kakewake creates a sense of energy hidden within the silence. This well-balanced arrangement successfully achieves the coexistence of restrained beauty and bold design.

A fusion of elegant form and nature

The neat and precise construction, a common feature of Kotaro Ikura's work, is evident in this vase. The vase's form is simple, yet its vertical lines and rounded edges maintain an exquisite balance. Its orderly form not only gives it a sense of stability from any angle, but also maximizes the beauty of the flowers placed in it.

Softness and light expression of porcelain

The appeal of Gabakoji lies in its texture, which reflects the light softly. This Gabakoji Kakebun Vase also shows subtle color changes depending on the amount of light, and its appearance changes depending on the time of day and lighting. When sunlight hits the Gabakoji surface, it shines gently, and in the shadows, its calm color is highlighted even more. This harmony with the light is one of the joys of displaying this vase.

A fusion of functional beauty and artistry

The "Kagayakuji Kakebun Flower Vase" is a work of art that goes beyond its functionality as a simple flower vase. It is not only a tool for arranging flowers, but also has a presence that enriches the space by simply placing it there. All of Kotaro Ikura's works aim to achieve both functional beauty and artistry, and this vase is no exception. It is a piece that will make you appreciate its beauty and ease of use every time you use it in your daily life.

Harmony in nature

This vase, with its calm, subdued color of the porcelain and the boldness of the hanging technique, truly reflects the harmony of nature. When flowers are arranged in it, the vitality of the plant is accentuated even more in the vessel, and at the same time, the vessel itself plays a role in bringing out the beauty of the plant. This harmony with nature makes this work even more profound, enhancing its appeal as art that lives in everyday life. The "Kagayakuji Kakebun Vase by Ikura Kotaro" is a work of art that combines the soft texture of the porcelain and the technique of hanging, and has a neat yet dynamic beauty. Although simple, it has a variety of expressions that will not tire the viewer, and its presence is further enhanced by arranging flowers in it. This vase, which is a concentration of technique and aesthetic sense, will be loved for a long time as a work of art that enriches daily life.
