The creative philosophy of ceramic artist Nobuhito Nakaoka

Driven by his belief that "I want to create beautiful, functional objects that value the beauty of form and color," Nakaoka Nobuhito established his own unique pottery style after training in Tamba, researching glazes, and receiving ceramic art training overseas. While his works are based on traditional pottery techniques, they captivate many people with their avant-garde designs and the beauty of their original glazes.

The colored gray-glazed ultramarine incense burner is a piece that embodies Mr. Nakaoka's outstanding skills and aesthetic sense, and is a work that beautifully harmonizes modern sensibilities with traditional techniques.

The appeal of the colored gray-glazed ultramarine incense burner

Sharp form and beautiful colors

The colored gray-glazed ultramarine incense burner is characterized by a glaze that beautifully blends indigo and purple. This intricate color is the product of chance, due to the temperature during firing and the environment inside the kiln, but it was also the result of Nakaoka's meticulous calculations and experience. The unique color and exquisite gradation give the entire incense burner depth and a mysterious beauty.
