Matsubayashi Hosai

Matsubayashi Hosai took over as the 16th generation Asahiyaki master in 2016. While preserving tradition, he also incorporates modern sensibilities and is dedicated to creating pottery, mainly tea bowls, tea caddies, water jars, and flower vases, based on the aesthetic sense of "kirei sabi" (beautiful sabi) of the tea master Kobori Enshu.
